An Invincible Summer

This quote first spoke to me when I was just a teenager and it has remained within me ever since.

I was born in the Winter but the Summer and the salt water have always resonated with me.
I knew that no matter what the year brought, the beach was always there and it always left me feeling the same way. Peaceful. Inspired. Moved. And at home.

Then, once life hit hard after the loss of my mother, I learned how the dark times; the gut-wrenching moments and trials that are handed to us when we least expect them - they shape us and help us to see how strong we truly are. And I knew that no matter what happens, I will always have that same peace deep inside me that I felt since I was a child with my heart in the ocean and my toes in the sand. That to me, that strength, that love, that passion for life that never fades... that's my Summer.
My invincible Summer.

Absolutely beautiful, perfect, and flawless.

I'm sorry that you had to learn what it's like to live without your mother.. That alone breaks my heart.
