Blazers and Blanks

Happy Friday! I’m excited for this weekend but, more on that later. First, I have to talk to you about my absolute love for BLAZERS! Boyfriend blazers to be exact. If you’ve been following my blog, you know I love the color brown for wardrobe items and I also adore bomber/moto jackets. Well, add blazers to my list of fashion loves. I have been searching everywhere for the perfect brown/khaki/camel colored blazer. Black, navy, grey? Sure, no problem. But, brown? Nowhere. If you know the secret, please, hook a sista up!

Now, thanks to {av} over at {long distance loving} I am able to share with you what my outfit WILL look like when I DO find that brown blazer. You’re probably wondering why I won’t buy this one. Uh, it’s over $100 and I’m a frugal little lass. Without further ado, here’s my fashion masterpiece:

Blazer Bliss

Yes, the mustard top is $400. Don’t worry, I would NEVER spend that much on one little item unless perhaps it was a new camera lens, a plane ticket, or a gift for my one true love, Ryan Gosling. Speaking of Ryan, his new movie opens today :) No big deal, just his THIRD movie currently playing in theatres.

So, aside from that, I will FINALLY be making that trip to the National Zoo this weekend. You better believe I am excited to not only a) Spend time in the city I love most and b) Spend time with my favorite one-year-old but also c) See my beloved cheetahs. Perhaps I’ll even tweet about it?

--

Also, it’s been a while since I’ve linked up with Lauren from The Little Things We Do to fill in some blanks! :)

1.  Something popular that I can't stand/just don't "get" is      why Facebook is still cool. I can no longer stand it/use it.

2.  Something unpopular that I secretly love is    writing everything by hand.

3.  When I've had a bad day I   listen to “Southtown” by P.O.D. super loud in my car and probably treat myself to a candy bar :)

4.  I'd prefer a peppermint mocha    to  a PSL    any day. Ahh, the truth is out. Don’t hate me, PSL lovers!

5.  Something that makes me nervous is    driving on the DC Beltway right where Maryland turns into Virginia. Plain and simple. Nothing but white knuckles and wishing you could simultaneously be looking at your side/rearview mirrors/the road.

6.  Something worth fighting for is     your family.

7.  When people think of me, I hope they think    "she is a spunky, passionate, and funny girl who never stops dreaming & always tries to do what is right.”

Maybe you just learned something new about me? I hope you have a lovely weekend and maybe, like me, you’ll be soaking up these last days of warmer temps before Fall is here for good :)

Hope you have a fabulous weekend my dear!

driving the beltway PERIOD made me nervous! but im better with traffic than without i have learned (apparently if there is traffic i pay attention as a driver and if there is no traffic i play around in the car and then wreck it).

i love that top and boots. i love the blazer but i already have one so similar! blazers are one of my absolute fav pieces too :)

have a great weekend girl!

That top! Ahhh, so beautiful; I die! I am so obsessed with pussybow tops/dresses lately. Such a classy look, and I always like modern spins on timeless classics :)
Btw, I am so totally with you on the peppermint mocha, any day of the week :)
Have a fabulous weekend! :)

Can I join the chorus of yellow top lovers? That bow is too cute and I love the 3/4 sleeves! I always roll them up anyway, so it's nice when I don't have to bother. Have a happy Friday!

Found your blog through long distance loving! I love EVERYTHING about this outfit... I really want those boots, but I am a frugal lass as well... {sigh}. Have a wonderful weekend!

That blouse is to die for. Seriously, I need it in my life! And driving in DC would probably terrify me too. People are crazy. I definitely thought I was going to die in a few cabs over the weekend haha.

Love the outfit, as always, even though I cannot pull off yellow to save my life. Maybe if my hair were a tad bit darker.

I love peppermint mochas too, I just can't drink them in excess like I can PSLs because they are way too sweet. They used to be my fav before I got used to drinking my coffee black at work. Now I am constantly surprised by how sweet mochas are and I'm not sure I totally like them anymore.

Crazy over this ensem!! And I, too, am beyond fed up with the lack of brown jackets. Blazers and coats alike... they NEVER sell them in brown! I've been dying to find one forever, so if I am able to locate a source, I'll let you in on it. ;) Have a great weekend!!

Hi! Brand new follower/reader (found you from fill-in-the-blank). And while I do profess a love of the PSL...I secretly am waiting anxiously for December and the peppermint mocha too. :)

Fun story... I almost chose that exact same yellow blouse to go with a blazer in my Friday's Fancies post!! But then I found the pink blazer and couldn't pass on it! :)

Great outfit. I also LOVE brown everything for my wardrobe. Especially this time of year.

I love hand written notes too. I think there's something special about them and that more people should write notes :) They're so nice to get!

I wish that outfit would transport itself to my wardrobe right now!!! So cute. I love the yellow- perfect for fall. And those boots?! I'm dying over the cute boots I've been seeing lately. Makes me want to go shopping with my invisible bank account! Ha!

I love your answers to fill in the blank Friday! I totally agree with you about Facebook... I rarely use it, and I feel like my page is so boring now. All about Twitter/Pinterest :) Oh, and the handwriting thing!? So me. Gosh, girl- we have so much in common! (Except for the PSL thing. I'll forgive you... )

Happy Friday, lady! xoxo
