The Good Ole Days | Vol. One

I think you’re in for a real treat today, or, at least a good laugh. I’m the kind of blogger who has a long list of “future posts” sitting and waiting to be checked off, yet, I can never choose which one to write so they never get posted. Today, FINALLY, I am going to start a series called The Good Ole Days. I love reminiscing about my childhood because, let’s admit it, the 90’s were the best {which is the decade where most of my childhood was spent.} I’ve gone back and found some of those memories.

If you weren’t a child of the 80’s and 90’s my apologies but maybe you’ll remember some of these too?

If you’re anything like me, you’ll get a KICK out of some of the goodies I’ve found.

The greatest game ever created.
”He likes most sports… {in a really quiet voice} except for baseball.” “I know who it is but I’m not telling. HA.HA.”
Despite what it may seem like, I haven’t played this game in two ten years, at least.

ZOOBILEE ZOO, anyone?! I watched this show religiously. Okay, I watched a lot of shows religiously when I was little. I always wanted to be the pink ballerina kangaroo. I mean, who wouldn’t?!

It’s hard to believe floppies used to be a way of life… and that people still use AOL {ahem, Mom! Love you!}

These were a fashion staple, duh.

Pretty sure I had this exact issue. Check out these dream boats!

Whatever happened to Surge? And, uh, Pepsi Blue? C’mon, that stuff was my favorite!

Did anyone have one of these phones? If so, I am super jealous :)

I’m grateful for growing up when I did. The world wasn’t perfect but life was good. I played outside. I loved call-waiting and having to put my other friend on hold but haaated when I still got the busy signal. I sharpened my pencils by cranking a wheel. I thought my dad’s car phone was THE coolest thing ever… besides wearing a scrunchie on my wrist, duh. And, when the Internet did magically come into existence, the dial-up modem took so long that I would rather be playing Dream Phone anyway.

I pray that my future kids don’t get lost in the technology that’s all around today. I hope they find the little things in life to appreciate too. Who knows, maybe I’ll brush the dust off my Dream Phone and hand it down to my daughter. {Knock on wood} Can I knock on wood about having a daughter? Did I just double-jinx it? Is that possible?? Ahhh!

I now feel like I was extremely deprived. I don't remember over half of this stuff? I mean, I know Dream Phone existed, but I never had one... NEVER heard of that TV show... I don't think I had any scrunchies or remember the tee shirt clips. I wasn't really into all the boys everyone liked and found those things like Tiger Bop or whatever they were to be super creepy.

I'm suddenly realizing why I wasn't popular growing up. Haha.

I LOVE this post!! I am a proud child of the 80's/90's!!! I never had the game Dream Phone.. I think I asked for it for at least 2 birthday/Christmases!! But I used to play at my friends house all the time! And I totally rocked the t-shirt clips.. I even remember tying my tshirts to the side with big hair bows!!

And when I was 10ish, I just knew that I was going to marry Jonathan Taylor Thomas!! :)

These were the good times. They just don't make awesome stuff like the use to! Luckily, I still have some of my stuff in my parents basement that I plan on breaking out once I have kids (they will probably hate me and the stuff haha)

This is an AWESOME post! I loved Dream Phone...we played it a couple years ago in college and my husband totally won! AHAH! :)

1. I'm pretty sure we still have Dream Phone somewhere in my house... and I also am pretty sure my friends and I took it out a few years ago to play it again! That game was so much fun!

2. You weren't cool if you didn't have AOL.

3. Those Teeny Bopper magazines were my life! I remember spending (what felt like) hours in the grocery store carefully looking through each one so I was sure I was buying the one with the best posters. My walls were seriously PLASTERED with pictures of "cute boys". haha. Do you remember the pen pal section that Tiger Beat used to have? I was featured in it once! Never in my life had I ever seen so much mail. It was insane!

4. I had that phone. As cool as it looks, I remember that it sucked. It was all staticky and sometimes I would be on the phone and it would get crossed with someone else and we would hear a random person's conversation. Weird.

Ohhhh now I want to be little again! Thanks for this post, it was so much fun to read :)
