Rebuilding and Almost Bloggy B-day

This time next week it will be my little blog's first birthday! I can't believe it. I really can't. AND, I will have a fun surprise for you :)

On another note, I've been going through a bit of a rough patch recently. I've been facing some of the more painful parts of my past head-on to really work through them and leave them in the past for good. I think sometimes it's necessary for us to do that.

Whether we plan to do it or whether something happens that pushes us to, I think it's healthy and helpful to face some of the unfinished business of our past. It's not easy, but then again, most worthwhile things aren't.

After all, rock bottom really does allow us to create a new, solid foundation. It gives us the opportunity to rebuild our lives for the better.

Do you ever take some time to assess your life? To decide which things should stay and which should go? What has helped you in this process? :)

What a lovely quote, and so very true :) And yes, I am constantly re-evaluating things in my life and always searching for new ways to grow.

I'm always assessing my life: how to make it better, how to live it to the fullest, making sure I can achieve what I want, etc. I don't always get there easily, but I try!

I love this quote and I couldn't agree more. It's been a necessity for me to face my past - it's brought healing and I can live more fully as the real me now. Usually, if I'm experiencing any kind of emotion that's not proportionate to a situation, I take a step back and try to evaluate what's going on for me. That's something that's come easier with age (and lots of therapy!). Glad you are rebuilding your own life for the better. It's hard work, but SO worth it!

I totally think that hitting rock bottom is necessary sometimes. After you pick yourself up, you can see how far you've come! Don't look back, look forward!

I love that quote! & also remember, "they didn't say it would be easy, they just said it would be worth it". I don't know who "they" is but, hopefully you get my point! Keep your chin up girlfriend!

Great quote! I know after a good cry I tend to see things more clearly. It is easy to become overwhelmed with life. I hope you figure our what you are looking for:)

i was at a point where i knew i needed to let go of some things (someone) i didnt want to. for me it honestly just took a lot of force to not visit those things in my mind....to think on something else.

I am in the middle of assessing my life right now. What stays and what goes. What (and who) matters and what (and who) doesn't. Inventory. It's hard. But some things are just bumps in the road, lessons of life. You will get through this. With positive strength that I have always seen from you. You rock my socks! xoxo
