The Time(s) I Almost Fainted

Life always seems so out of whack, so out of balance, when I don't blog consistently. That's one of the downfalls to being a blogger. It's part of your life. It's how you catch up with some of your favorite people. How you release your creative energy, so, when I'm not a part of this little blogging world as much as I usually am, I feel the effects of it.

Unfortunately, this week, a couple things happened that set me back just a bit.

+ I have been working day and night to list my new jewelry pieces on After Sunset! [Check them out!]
+ My good friend made last-minute plans to come visit me this weekend
+ I got sick with a darn cold

Now, don't get me wrong - thank goodness it was just a cold! However, I hardly ever get sick and when I do, I am miserable. I felt the progression begin. Sore throat, sneezing, runny nose, scratchy throat, then I lost my voice. This always happens when I get sick. So I attacked my body with Vitamin C and over-the-counter medicine like Alka Seltzer Cold & Cough. I took everything as prescribed and then the other night took Nyquil before bed.

I woke up the next morning feeling great. Not 100%, but my voice was back and my runny nose was gone! I hopped in the car that afternoon to run some errands and while I was sitting at the stoplight, everything started to spin like crazy. I felt so unbelievably weird.

Re-wind to about a month ago when, lo and behold, I was on a date. We were standing in line for a good 30 minutes to place our food order [this place was the bomb] and just as we were about to order, everything went white. Everything started to spin. I lost my hearing. I started profusely sweating and knew, any second, that my knees were going to give out and I would faint. I remember the thought crossing my mind that I was going to die. [Yes, really.]

The episode I was experiencing while driving felt extremely similar and I started to panic. I knew that if I didn't pull over my car, I would pass out. In my car. While driving. Panic. Attack. I pulled over. Called my dad. Got some food. Then proceeded to where I was going and had to keep myself occupied when stuck at traffic lights so that I didn't lose consciousness. See below picture.

Needless to say, I'm fine and am now here writing a blog post about it. I'm pretty sure it was a case of low blood sugar. However, I managed to fight off a cold in less than 48 hours. Record timing for me! Next week, I have a TON to catch you all up on. Antiquing, jewelry, and I'm sure some great pictures from this coming weekend!

Here's to being healthy, eating in the morning [even if you're sick and have no appetite], and being able to laugh at the embarrassing things that happen to you in public :)

That has to be a scary feeling while driving. Glad you didn't pass out and that you are feeling better now.

That is the scariest feeling! I fainted at work a few weeks ago (first time that has EVER happened to me) and it was a terrible feeling before it happened. I can't even imagine feeling like that while you're driving! You're very lucky you were able to pull over. So glad you're feeling better now :)

Eeek glad you're okay!! That's scary, it's only happened to me once and it's because I hadn't eaten and it was REALLY hot outside.
Ahhhh can't wait to hear about your antiquing (: (:

It is so cool to have found your blog! We seem to have a lot in common... I finally followed my heart to SD from Connecticut 3 years ago and we call our apartment The Sunset House because of our gorgeous view of the sun setting over the bay every night. I look forward to following your blog! And hopefully not hearing about any more fainting spells ;p
