Let's Talk Nail Polish

Moving far away, living on your own, spending countless hours job searching and thinking about life can sometimes drive a girl bonkers. I've had a lot of deep thoughts lately. A lot. I'm pretty much the next Aristotle/Plato. On a side note, I have been slashing [ / ] everything lately.

So, in the midst of all my deep thoughts on life, love, and the pursuit of happiness, I started thinking about nail polish. I need your help. Here are my thoughts:

+Essie
[via]

At one point in my life, I was an Essie Queen.
Ranted & raved about it.
Now, I can't stand it.
It always goes on so thick & chunky and dries with bubbles.
Maybe it's just me. I think it might be.

+Zoya

I was sold the first time this polish hit my nails.
Love all the colors and the smoothness it goes on.
Also love that it's vegan!

+OPI

Badda-bing.
You put the OPI Top Coat on and your nails are set for weeks [pretty much]
Smooth.
Love the wide brush.
Are the names the best or what?

So, what's my dilemma, you ask? Well, I'm just curious what I'm missing out on. I've heard tons of good things about Butter London. Is it worth the price?

I want to continue expanding my nail polish collection but don't want to waste money on a color I love but whose texture or quality will later disappoint.

Tell me, friends! What's your go-to nail polish? What brand can you always rely on, that leaves you always wanting more polish? Spill!

I'm a big fan of OPI too! Also, if you can ever get your hands on Coach nail polish it's awesome! I think they only sell it in giftsets with purchases - that's how I got it.

I have nail polish from literally everywhere. I LOVE OPE. Hardcore devotee to that brand. I have a few zoya and essie and I recently purchases some china glaze that I like. Also I really do like butter london. Good application and consistency, and its cruelty free which I like. They also have matching lip glosses now which is neat.

I do love Butter London polishes! For me they've lasted a really long time, and they go on smoothly! I'm kind of obsessed with that first manicure.

I tried one Essie polish and hated it. I think it's the brush, but I was not impressed. I stick to OPI, but I keep hearing good things about Zoya so I need to give that a try!

I've been dying to try out Zoya! I have two butter londons and I love one of them and hate the other. I might have just gotten a wonky bottle. I also really love this indie brand called Chirality. You can find them on Facebook, bigcartel, and etsy..her stuff is gorgeous!

I stick with Essie, Zoya, OPI and Butter London! Essie probably my favorite and the most bang for your buck!

Essie sometimes gives me fits too, it's very hit or miss. My fave brand is OPI, the names are too fun! I haven't bought Butter London just because I can't stomach the thought of dropping $14 on a bottle of nail polish. They do say you get what you pay for though.. so maybe it's pretty good!?

I love Zoya and OPI. Essie is hit or miss for me, but I love the colors. I like Butter London (pricey!), but I have found that it chips pretty quickly. The colors are great though, and it touches up quite nicely.

I have to say my favorite brand is definitely OPI! As with Butter London, they're great polishes but too expensive! I only buy them when they're bogo free

I never tried Essie before I started blogging. Bloggers RAVE about that stuff!! So I looked away from the price tag and just bought it. I strongly dislike Essie. It peels off my nails like in big pieces. It's annoying and it's expensive. I'm not an Essie fan at all.

i think w essie, it depends on the colors. some just seem better than others. i don't care how great butter london is, i'm not paying the price. i like sinful colors and sally hansen too. sally hansen is prob my favorite hands down.
