Antiques and Outlet Shopping

It was a great weekend. Grand, actually! I stuck to my plan last week to not make many plans this weekend. So, on Friday after work, I stopped by Kohl's. I had been perusing Pinterest the night before and saw some sandals that were from Kohl's on SALE! Had to get them. Once I got there, I found out they were having a super sale and everything was an additional 10% off the sale price. I love frugality!

This past Christmas, I received a huge coupon book full of Buy One Get One Free deals for restaurants and services in the DC area. I figured it'd be a great way to try out some new places! On Friday, I went on a Daddy/Daughter date to a place in Old Town Alexandria called Southside 815. It was a "soul food" kind of place. I had to try a Po-Boy, and oh boy! Let's just say that will be the last time I'll order one of those. Breaded seafood in a roll that was too big for me to even bite into.

Saturday morning was an early one. My dad and I drove about an hour West to go visit with my Mom's best friend. It was a nice morning drive out in the hills/mountains.

We had a great time over there, enjoying each other's company and telling stories. It was so comforting to be there. The two of them were such close friends that even her decor reminded me of my mom. I knew she was there laughing with us too :) Here's the little tribute to my mom that was on her mantle:

Once we left there, we headed out to do some antique-ing. Unfortunately, I wasn't too lucky this week and walked away empty-handed. I got some great pictures though!

That last picture is definitely my favorite. I finally set up a bunch of my jewelry on my mirrored tray and just love it. The one is above is a set-up I saw at the antique store. I think I'll start collecting the trays! I've been finding a lot of them lately!

Then, it was off to the outlet mall. I had been wanting to venture out there ever since I moved back to Virginia. You see, the CCO [Cosmetic Company Outlet] in Park City was one of my favorite places to go. The closest one to my house in VA is nearly an hour away which is why it took me until now to get out there. I walked away with some great steals!

Somehow, I didn't end up buying anything in the Vera Bradley Outlet store. I've loved my Vera Bradley for years and it's been quite a while since I've picked up something new. I think Vera is just great for accessories [make-up bags, checkbook covers, wallets, etc.] This will be my next purchase:

Here are the rest of the goodies I picked up this weekend:
1. Orange sandals from Kohl's & olive green sandals from American Eagle - both on sale!
2. Two shirts from Kohl's on sale for $4! I love to workout in these! The earrings were also on sale and I have had my eye on them for months now!
3. Lilu perfume from Pacific Sunwear [I got this stuff back in HS and it's one of my favorite scents. I thought they stopped making it but was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in the outlet store!] Also, I scored two MAC paint pots at the CCO which I will be reviewing shortly :)

After shopping, we decided to use a coupon for a pizzeria nearby where we ordered their Margherita and Bruschetta Pizzas. Yum!

Sunday was full of watching the Annual Conference for my Church. I went over to Kate's to watch the first session where her dog Latte found a comfy new home on my lap :) Too cute!

All in all, it was certainly a wonderful weekend :) Probably one of the best in the past month or two! What did you do this weekend?

Love that you had such a great weekend, girl! :) It sounds like the perfect spring weekend. Totally digging your purchases! I dont think I would have been able to restrain myself at the vera store. I need a bigger duffel. I got the smaller one and I pack it full regularly.
