Colors of My Life

I've always been a person who is inspired by color. Color moves me. As lame as it may sound, it truly livens up my life and brings an aspect to it that nothing else can. I don't know, there's just something about certain colors that I can really relate to.

Some of you may have seen my Instagram pictures this weekend. And, if you did, you probably know what colors really resonate with me. Or, you can just take a look at my blog header/layout and figure it out that way to. Here's a dress I saw at Off 5th [Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet]

Not only do I love the styling of this long-sleeved dress with the gold belt and pretty necklace, but I adore the fun print and the COLORS. I look at this dress and think of a sunset at the beach. It's rich, unique, and the ripples of the fabric makes me think of the waves. Again, I'm inspired and moved by these colors.

Last week, I mentioned how I went shopping at Buckle and walked away with quite a few new shirts that I was very happy about. Without seeing a picture of the clothes already in my closet, let me just tell you that I definitely have a particular color palette. Much of this is due to a company called Dressing Your Truth that truly changed the way I live and dress through their Beauty Profiling system. More on this some other time because it's quite complex and awesome! Anyway, through the course you learn things like what colors, hues, patterns, fabrics, etc. look best on YOUR type which is why my color palette now is what it is!

Luckily, my favorite color scheme [turquoise/teal/orange in the right hues] can be incorporated into my wardrobe! Which explains my purchases at Buckle:

Brown is also a huge part of my wardrobe [no black] and I love rich purple and plum colors! The orange and blue shades are quite self-explanatory :)

However, while I just love orange, turquoise and teal hold the biggest space in my heart. And, to show you just how much I love those hues, here's what I looked like this weekend:

Teal skinnies and my Vera Bradley turn-key wallet and small make-up bag in "Totally Turq." It is, by far, my favorite Vera Bradley print. For obvious reasons. I should also mention that my iPhone case is also this color as well as several other things that I tote around with me in my purse everyday.

There's just something about teal and turquoise that puts me in my happy place. Surrounding myself with those colors makes me feel "at home" and at ease.

Do certain colors make you feel that way too? Please tell me I'm not alone in this! What colors brighten up your life day-to-day? :)

Also, if you haven't already, be sure to enter my giveaway for a $50 gift card to Shabby Apple! The giveaway ends on Thursday night :)

I love all the bright colors! It really makes me want to go shopping... Building my work wardrobe I had a ton of black and pink which works GREAT for getting the most bang for my buck outfit-wise, but now that I can add more items to my wardrobe (well, in a few months anyway), I'm looking at add some more variety.
